Yorkville Introduces EAFE QVR Enhanced Protection Equity Class

Yorkville Asset Management is pleased to announce the launch of the EAFE QVR Enhanced Protection Equity Class - a new fund designed to provide investors access to select investment opportunities in Europe, Australia, Asia and the Far East. Yorkville, a pioneer in utilizing Quality, Value and Risk metrics in its investment approach strongly advocates that Canadian investors consider prudently diversifying into these markets. Utilizing a value investment approach, the Fund is well positioned to immediately build upon the opportunities the Manager sees in these markets.

“International (EAFE) equities are great diversifiers for balanced mandates and for those seeking exposure to Europe, and developed Asian economies, like Singapore, Hong Kong and Japan. They represent 30% of the world large cap market and have historically outperformed Canadian equities.” Hussein Amad President and CEO of Yorkville Asset Management.

In addition to Mr. Amad, acting as the Fund’s lead Portfolio Manager, Yorkville has brought onboard additional talent with Polina Markova joining as Associate Portfolio Manager. Ms. Markova holds an Honours Bachelor of Administrative Studies degree from York University and is a CFA charterholder. She previously worked at a boutique investment firm, managing investments and constructing portfolios for high-net-worth individuals.

Yorkville Asset Management joined almost 1,000 other supporters, on Saturday February 27th , as the VIP reception sponsor for the Trillium Health Partners Foundation’s annual Gala in Mississauga.

This is Yorkville’s 4th consecutive year sponsoring the foundation gala, dating back to 2013, when Yorkville became the VIP Reception Sponsor for Trillium’s Laugh Out Loud event. This year’s event was hosted by acclaimed hometown comedian Russell Peters and Jessica Holmes who managed to lead a successful night of laughter and music. The event raised almost $950,000 for the Mental Health Program at Trillium Health Partners. To date, the Laugh Out Loud event has raised over $7.5 million in support of Trillium Health Partners Foundation.

Celebrating the company’s 5th Anniversary, Yorkville Asset Management wanted to recognize the contribution of its clients in Ottawa.  An important market for the company, several Yorkville’s loyal charitable foundation clients call Ottawa their home base.

The prestigious E18hteen Restaurant, located in the Byward Market in downtown Ottawa, created a spectacular pairing menu to be accompanied by fine wines selected from Bordeaux, Burgundy and Champagne.  Guests heard Hussein Amad, Yorkville’s CEO, address market conditions and were treated to an exquisite violin performance.

Prominent local members of Yorkville’s Business Advisory Group such as Gary Seveny, Jeffrey Dale and Stephen McDermott were happy to share their thoughts on Yorkville and discuss the charitable contributions the company has made locally.  Since 2010 Yorkville's collective national charitable contributions and bursaries have exceeded $500,000.

Hosting its third annual Vintage Wine Tasting at Toronto'a Shangri-La Hotel, Yorkville again created an atmosphere for clients to share, connect and learn more about financial markets, and to celebrate its fifth anniversary. Offering a mid-year update on Yorkville’s Portfolios, CEO Hussein Amad was joined onstage by Fixed Income Portfolio Manager, Robert Featherby, and Investment Analyst, Jillian Wade, in a light-hearted and entertaining panel discussion.

Many special guests such as Dr. Lyle Oberg (past Minister of Finance, Alberta and member of Yorkville's Business Advisory Group) were in attendance, as Yorkville presented its latest approach to investing in healthcare opportunities.  In addition to the stunning atmosphere provided by the Shangri-La Hotel, three expert wine hosts were onsite specifically to match food station selections with exclusive vintage wines and to offer food pairing advice.  Featured wine included rare “grower-champagnes” and rare single vineyard Burgundy selections.  This special evening featured several wines of which only a few cases were imported to Canada.

Yorkville sponsored and attended for the fourth year in a row the West Lincoln Memorial Hospital (WLMH) Foundation's National Philanthropy Day Celebration which took place on Thursday November 12 at the Casablanca Winery Inn in Grimsby, ON.  With over 100 guests in attendance the Hospital and Foundation were honoured to pay tribute to the community philanthropists supporting WLMH.

Yorkville also provided the keynote speaker for the evening, Ms. Hélène Campbell.  At only 24 years of age, she is a double lung transplant recipient and told the audience her ‘lung story’ and her appreciation and deep gratitude for donors … organ donors but also donors who enable medical research, advanced equipment and technology, and the many tools needed by a healthcare team to save a life such as hers.
