Shannon Doyle - Yorkville Asset Management

On Saturday, February 28, 2015 Yorkville joined almost 1000 other supporters for Trillium Health Partners Foundation’s third annual Laugh Out Loud Comedy Gala at the International Centre in Mississauga.

Yorkville, the proud supporter of numerous organizations across Ontario, committed in July 2013 to becoming the VIP Reception Sponsor for Trillium’s Laugh out Loud event for the next three years, ending 2016.

Yorkville staff, clients and friends gathered for a night of laughter and music, emceed by Alan Thicke, and headlined by the notable Gerry Dee.

Thanks to the support of many, the event was a tremendous success, raising over $1.8 million for the mental health program at Trillium Health Partners.

Yorkville celebrates its fifth annual Toronto Investment Forecast at the Four Seasons

On February 5, 2015, over 100 influential members of the Ontario community including clients, friends and family of Yorkville gathered at the new Four Seasons hotel on Yorkville Avenue for Yorkville’s fifth annual Investment Forecast.

The evening was one with superior food, libations and live entertainment accompanied by a presentation of Yorkville’s core investment strategies by our portfolio management team. These included discussions by President & CEO Hussein Amad, Deputy Chief Investment Strategist Raphael Aronowicz and Southbridge Capital Inc’s President Mike Petersen. The evening included a market review of 2014 and an insightful examination of Yorkville’s investment focus and plans as we proceed into 2015.

Déjà Vu: Yorkville's second annual Ottawa Investment Forecast

This January 27, 2015 marked Yorkville’s first annual Ottawa Investment Forecast, held at the renowned Westin Hotel on the Rideau Canal. Yorkville has been busy working diligently to build a reputation for investment and client service excellence in the Ottawa community since the opening of our office there in 2012.

The evening was a testament to the incredible strides we have made in the area, and to the extraordinary calibre of clients and friends we are fortunate enough to have attracted. Individuals in the room included team members of such invaluable organizations as United Way Ottawa and Algonquin College of Applied Arts and Technology.

The night included presentations from Yorkville's President & CEO Hussein Amad, Deputy Chief Investment Strategist Raphael Aronowicz and Southbridge Capital Inc’s President Mike Petersen. These discussions covered our overarching investment goals in 2014 and addressed specifically four investment themes Yorkville is positioning to take advantage of:

Yorkville Sponsors Drinks on the Links Golf Classic

On Wednesday, June 25th, Yorkville sponsored West Lincoln Memorial Hospital Foundation's Annual Drinks on the Links Golf Classic. Yorkville's sponsorship included Tournament Sponsor, Drinks on the Links Sponsor, and also having the very enjoyable task of manning a wine and cheese table at one of the holes.

The West Lincoln Memorial Hospital Foundation operates exclusively as a non-profit, charitable foundation, raising funds to support the hospital’s medical programs and health services. Their goal is to enable West Lincoln Memorial Hospital to provide quality healthcare services to the 65,000 residents of west Niagara and to meet west Niagara’s changing health care needs now and in the future.

Mike Karim

In 1994, Mike opened a new point, Parkway Chrysler in North West Mississauga. As dealer principal and general manager, Mike successfully operated the Chrysler store for over 20 years. He was also involved in the ownership and management of two other stores in the GTA during this time. In 2014, Mike sold Parkway Chrysler privately. As a result of this sale process, Mike recognized the need for third party intermediaries in the industry to bring buyers and sellers together.

Mike served on the Board of The Toronto Dealers Association and its affiliate, The Toronto Auto Show for ten years. He was the President of the Association when it’s 400 members celebrated its 100th Anniversary in 2007. He served on the Board of The William Osler Hospital Foundation for many years and now currently sits on the board of Yorkville Asset Management.

Mike enjoys golf, travel and spending quality time with family and friends. Mike has called Richmond Hill home for the last 28 years.

Yorkville the title sponsor for Toronto Rehab Foundation’s On Track to Cardiac Recovery

On Saturday February 22, 2014, Yorkville’s staff, friends and family arrived at Toronto Rehab’s Rumsey Centre in Toronto to sponsor the Foundation’s 11th Annual On Track to Cardiac Recovery walk.

With a welcoming atmosphere and host of activities for children, including face painting and a magician, the event was truly a family affair. Almost $150,000 was raised to contribute to funding Canada’s first Cardiac College– An educational curriculum for those living with Heart Disease at Toronto Rehab’s Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation Program.

Toronto Rehab Foundation’s aim is to raise funds to support research and inter-professional education for adult rehabilitation in the Canadian Community. For more information on the foundation and how you can support, please visit their website.
